A chance to experience tomorrow, today

Oct 11, 2018

You don’t have to be a clairvoyant to see the future.

You just need a ticket to the Audi Brand Experience Singapore 2018 (ABE 2018).

From Oct 10 to 14, a total of 8,000 square metres of exhibition space at Marina Bay Sands will be transformed to showcase the German carmaker’s vision of the future — the largest-ever event of its kind in Singapore.

Here’s what there is to see and do at the ABE 2018:

For the auto enthusiast

Over 30 models in Audi’s current lineup will be on display, allowing enthusiasts to get behind the wheel of Audi’s latest and greatest.

These range from the A8, their flagship luxury sedan, to upcoming arrivals like the A7 Sportback and the A6 sedan, which will make their Southeast Asian debut.

The ABE 2018 also brings the brand’s racing pedigree out in force. The Audi Sport sub-brand represents the most powerful performance machines that Audi has to offer, and will have models like the R8 and newly-released RS 4 Avant on display.

The event will also mark one of the first public appearances of Audi’s new luxury SUV, the Audi Q8, which sets the benchmark for every SUV to follow with its unique elegance and style.

Attendees will also have ample opportunity to see Audi’s lineup in action at the Audi driving showcase: the full gamut of Audi models, concept cars included, will be put through a dazzling display with spectacular visual effects and 3D audio.

Plus, for the Audi diehards and new converts (and there will be many of the latter), ABE 2018 exclusive merchandise will be available for sale through digital self-service kiosks.

Thinking of buying an Audi for yourself? Exclusive promotions will be available at the ABE 2018 as well. But there’s a chance you may end up not even having to buy a car — every ticket purchased to the ABE 2018 qualifies the holder for a single entry into the event’s grand draw.

This is not your average lucky draw, though — the grand prize is a brand-new Audi A5 Sportback. Simply take part in a quiz at the ABE 2018, and you could be driving out of the Marina Bay Sands parking lot in a new car.

You don’t even have to consider buying a new car to leave the ABE 2018 with something — simply visit the booth for Audi on demand, Audi’s premium mobility service, and play an interactive game to enjoy special offers and attractive prizes.

For the futurologist

The ABE 2018 isn’t just for car enthusiasts. Anyone who has the slightest interest in the evolution of technology owes it to themselves to attend the ABE 2018.

Audi’s vision for the future is perhaps best exemplified through two of Audi’s concept cars, the Audi Elaine and Aicon, which will be making their Southeast Asian debut. The Elaine is an electric vehicle (EV) equipped with Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities, capable of steering and changing lanes at speeds of up to 130km/h.

Meanwhile, with an interior devoid of a steering wheel, dashboard, and even B-pillar, the Aicon invites commuters to rethink and redefine their entire paradigm of what mobility is — be it an office, a relaxation space, or even a playground for their kids.

Think electric vehicles don’t provide as enjoyable a drive as their petrol counterparts? Think again. Audi’s first fully electric vehicle, the Audi e-tron SUV, looks and performs as an Audi thoroughbred should, from its Singleframe grille and aerodynamic silhouette, to its signature quattro all-wheel-drive system and luxurious interior.

Audi’s other electric endeavour is no less impressive. Initially conceptualised for the video game Gran Turismo Sport for the PlayStation 4, the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo (GT) went from from a virtual vehicle to an actual, drivable concept car in just 11 months.

With a permanent all-wheel-drive drivetrain and three electric motors giving it a total of 804hp, it goes from a standstill to 100km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

You’ll be able to catch all of these concept cars on display at the ABE 2018.

For the family

The ABE 2018 is a family-friendly event, with plenty of things for the kids to do while you take care of business.

An entire corner of the ABE 2018 is dedicated to the kids’ playzone, where they can drive miniature versions of Audi cars around a small driving circuit.

Older kids (and adults too) can head for the Gran Turismo driving simulators to try out virtual versions of Audi models on the in-game racetrack — including the e-tron Vision GT.
